Pastry filled with Caramilized sweet onion and winter mellon.
Hopia or “hopya” came from the Chinese word hó-piá which means “good pastry”. In the Philippines, it is widely available in groceries, sidewalk vendors and “sari-sari” stores. It comes in different shape and size like round, half moon shaped or cubes.
The pastry has savory or sweet paste filling and flaky crust almost similar to moon cake.
